2009 Annual Texas Course

The 2009 course was held last September at the InterContinental Hotel in Houston, TX. Many thanks to the program directors, Drs. John R. Stroehlein and Marta L. Davila, for their hard work and organization in putting together such a dynamic faculty and selecting such clinically relevant topics.

Friday’s Fellow Program was well attended by 24 gastroenterology Fellows who participated in a unique learning experience about entering practice including “what to look for when joining a group” to “dos and don’ts of private practice” plus several other relevant topics. Congratulations should go to Dr. Mike Guirl for organizing yet another great program.

The TSGE Board of Directors elected to honor Loren Owensby, MD, FACP, FACG for his years of commitment and devotion by naming him as the 2009 recipient of the Marcel Patterson-Robert Nelson Award. Dr. Owensby truly represents the type of physician and society member deserving of this special recognition.
